for those of you who were from DJ from anytime between the years 1995-2004, you'd remember this thing called Malam Nostalgia held in Sunway Hotel back in the year 2000!
do you remember ANYTHING about it?
i remember it being some fund raising thing to build the new hall! man... we were so excited, we were gettin a new hall! no more crappy mornings/afternoons in the hot hot hot field while prefects and teachers sit like sweltering piggies in the SHADE, while we normal students melt under the very VERY hot sun, and sometimes having to endure wet grass to sit on -_-
so anyway,
i don't have any pictures of that night, but that's because digital cameras weren't invented yet.... (?) either that, or they were too expensive for anybody to afford. hmm...
but anyway, i've digressed again.
i always do -_-

so i was in f1, and fresh into the whole secondary school thing...
and the whole Malam Nostalgia was such a great big flop, like seriously.
i mean, thinking back about it last night, and also having journal evidences really made it look like... such a waste of time. it was a lousy excuse for older girls to dress like ... ahem*, and silly excuses for guys to exercise their flirting skills/pick up lines.
what was i wearing ah?
i think it was something i'd never wear again
like a pair of black pants + a black spaghetti strap top, WITH a green cardigan over it.
wah. so retro. heheahaha :D those were the real colours too!

and and..
i remember having to crack my head over table arrangements so that everybody got what they wanted, and got to sit together and have the biggest blast of their pathetic tween lives, but then the management screwed our tables up! ergh! it was annoying. and i got shuffled some place else with people i don't know and haven't seen before (meaning a mix of f2s and f3s too). and i was so upset and frustrated that i didn't even bother eating.
i do however remember that i enjoyed Alicia's performance. i think she sang "hero" by Mariah Carey. and when she was singing, there was this mushroom dish haha.. and i remember turning back towards the table when the waiter was serving, and when he plopped the food down, i saw Ashley stuff a mouthful of shitake mushrooms into her mouth! and when she was FINALLY done chewin and all that, she told me, "Keshia, you have to try this it's really good!"
HAHAHA.
yeah. and then the group i was with totally ditched me and didn't even bother to look for me every once in a while. pffbt* some kinda friends they were that night. hmpphh. but at the corner of my envious 13 year-old eye i saw them all having a blast.

I remember I had to wear a white dress (it was actually the flower girl dress I wore for my uncle's wedding lol) because Pn Nancy and Pn Betty asked me to present this bouquet of flowers to Ong Ka Ting's wife. Meh.
I somehow only remember that Ridzuan and Nazmi were at my table. Because the rest of us pranked them into drinking this weird concoction of "ice lemon tea" which in actuality was orange juice mixed with a lot of horrible things like chilli and soy sauce. 13 year olds haha.
I was there with my Daddy and sitting with my uncle and aunt together with Khing Yiing and Khing Wei and their younger sister. Didn't know anyone at the table except my relatives so it was really drab.
And I wore black slacks and a really high necked black spaghetti strap top too. My first ever spaghetti top heh. Mum thought it was indecent (because I'd never worn anything like that before) and so she made me put on this baby blue sort of lacey jacket which I tied into a knot at the end (cowgirl style). I thought I was so cool! *cringes and turns bright red*
Now that you've brought up the topic, I just recalled; remember that Samantha girl who did the gymnastics performance and how her bra came off and she just threw it offstage? The most interesting event of the night haha. The guys in class were talking about it for weeks!

wen ni: hahahaha! yes i remember that incident! but i didn't see her take her bra off! or at least i don't remember it happening! eh she was so professional ok... i mean, to do that kinda thing without freaking out and all :D quite cool what. if me, i'd hang kei and run off stage maybe haha :D
